AST’s signature dampers utilize inverted shock technology. This race-proven technology produces an extremely strong damper, providing better suspension geometry under heavy lateral and braking loads in either a spirited road or track environment. Using a 45mm inverted piston design increases damper strength in all directions, optimizing cornering and braking forces under high-stress conditions. Proven during countless competitions around the world, our design provides an ultra-strong strut with low frictional resistance.
Our shock bodies are specially designed to keep maximum stroke, even with a low ride height. Our monotube design is essential for their high performance. Specifically, the shock oil and nitrogen are separated by a floating piston, and monotube dampers allow for use of a larger piston, increasing the damper performance and sensitivity felt by the driver. This produces more grip, chassis control, and driver feedback in both road and track conditions. All the AST shock internals are anodized to limit component breakdown and prevent any contamination. This extends the time between rebuilds for shocks that absorb significant wear and tear over thousands of miles.
